Even after two years we are still getting messages detailing wonderful messages. It means so much to the family. Thank you.

I would like to present my deep condolences to the family of my dear former professor Bill. May he rest in peace. I took his thermodynamics course in 1977. He was one of my best if not the best professor. Coming from Algeria, he helped me adjust to my new environment, with his natural kindness and great sense of humor. One day, I gave him a 10 $ Bill for the payment of a book, then noticing a fellow professor passing by, he told me for an A it's 50 $. What a great man and a great American. One of my best professors ever.

Prof. Mosberg was a professor of mine and my senior adviser while I was working on my BSME, finishing up in 1989 at UNH. Truly a great, knowledgeable and special man. I'm deeply saddened to hear of his passing, but I hope the sorrow for you can be somewhat mitigated by the knowledge of how many lives (like mine) he touched and how much improvement he brought in so many ways. My best wishes to you!

Bill Mosberg changed my life when I was a scared 19 year old student at UNH in 1969. A wonderful amusing professor, he was the best-of-the best in the mechanical engineering department. A powerful engineering role model for many my age. I do remember his daily jokes too ...

Great teacher. We shall all miss him.

I am so sorry to learn of Bill's death. Bill and Gloria were my second parents during my high school years when I was Laura's #1 babysitter. Bill and Gloria were always so generous with me, paying me $1.00 per hour to babysit when the going rate was 75c. Gloria would always have frozen pudding ice cream from the UNH dairy in the freezer for me (my favorite), and I remember getting a spectacular leather purse from Bill and Gloria one holiday which I used for years. Gloria would take me to dance recitals at UNH when Bill did not want to attend, and she exposed me to culture that was so new to me as a teenager growing up in the hicks of Lee. Laura, you were a beautiful little girl when I knew you, all arms and legs. You loved Snoopy. I'm not sure if you remember me, but I totally remember you. After I moved to the Midwest for college and then work, I lost touch with you and your parents--but I've never forgotten how much you were all such a big part of my life during my high school years. Bill was a wonderful man.

We were sorry to learn of Bill's death in June. He cared about his students and he played an important role in promoting the welfare of the faculty at UNH. We always enjoyed meeting and chatting with him. He always had a funny story to tell.

Durham has never been the same since Bill retired. His was a wonderful presence in town and at UNH. Our histories with Bill, Gloria and Laura's early years go way back. I'm glad I was at Bill's retirement party and that Hans and I had the good luck to sit in front of Bill and Tory at the Celebrity series concerts. Many good memories remain. It was fun seeing Bill, when he made it from Newmarket to Durham, after he and Tory moved. I just wish his later years had been as filled with fun and laughter as the early ones. Those early years are what I remember fondly. You have my sincere sympathy for your loss of a truly wonderful addition to our lives.

I was saddened to hear of Professor Mosberg's passing. He was my teacher for undergraduate "Thermodynamics" and Mentor for a Graduate Project "Vortex Tube". I have many memorable moments of him. On our first meeting for my graduate project he asked me why I was also registered with his undergraduate Thermodynamics course. I told him I wasn't. He showed me the roster with my name on it. I told him it was a mistake! On our next meeting he said "did you know that there is student with my exact name "Donald G. Chamberland" in his udergraduate class. I told him it highly unusual since I have very few relatives. Somehow, we used to meet occasionally in Durham and Dover and he would always have a new joke to tell me. At the end of the joke he would have a little chuckle. If his joke didn't make me laugh, his chuckle would. He was a great and dedicated teacher and he was a humble person. My sympathies to his family.
